Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 pound imitation crab meat flaked style or sticks sliced
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup celery finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons red onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh dill chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Gently fold the mixture together until everything is well incorporated. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  • This salad can be enjoyed immediately for a fresh, flavorful bite. Alternatively, cover and refrigerate for up to 2 days to allow the flavors to develop further. For an extra touch of freshness, sprinkle more chopped dill on top before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • I use imitation crab flakes as they come pre-cut into bite-sized pieces. Alternatively, you can purchase stick-style imitation crab and slice it yourself. Fresh crab can also be used as a substitute if available.
  • Fresh dill is highly recommended for its superior flavor. If dried dill is necessary, substitute with 1/2 teaspoon of dried for every portion of fresh dill.
  • Low-fat mayonnaise can be used if a lighter option is preferred.
