Ingredients

  • 2-3 pounds bone-in chicken wings separated and tips removed
  • 2-3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons coarse or flaked sea salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons ground black pepper

Buttery Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • ½ cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan plus more for serving if desired
  • Caesar or Ranch dressing for dipping

Instructions

How to Bake Crispy Chicken Wings

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  • Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with a metal baking rack. If you don’t have a rack, you can still bake the wings directly on the sheet; they may not be as crispy, but they will still taste delicious.
  • Pat the wings dry with paper towels. Lightly coat the wings with cornstarch, ensuring a fine dusting. Season the wings generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a large bowl, toss the wings with the vegetable oil until they are evenly coated.
  • Arrange the wings on the rack, ensuring they do not touch each other. Bake for approximately 50 minutes, or until the wings are golden and crispy.

Making the Sauce

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in the freshly chopped parsley and grated Parmesan until well combined.
  • Transfer the hot, baked chicken wings to a large bowl. Pour the garlic Parmesan butter sauce over the wings and toss until they are thoroughly coated.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese over the wings. Serve with Caesar or Ranch dressing on the side for dipping.

Notes

Keep in mind that the calorie count assumes you've consumed all the butter, but some sauce will be left over and not eaten with the chicken wings.
