Ingredients

  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 4 large Honeycrisp apples cubed (see notes)
  • cup mayonnaise
  • 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 ribs celery thinly sliced
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes halved
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup dried cranberries

Instructions

  • Begin by tossing the cubed apples with freshly squeezed lemon juice to prevent browning and add a zesty flavor.
  • In a sizable mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and brown sugar until well combined. This forms the creamy base of your salad.
  • Add the lemon-tossed apples, thinly sliced celery, halved red grapes, chopped pecans, and dried cranberries to the bowl. Stir gently to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving, allowing the flavors to meld and the salad to chill. Enjoy this refreshing and crunchy apple salad!

Notes

Enjoy this salad with your favorite crisp apples, and feel free to experiment with different varieties along with your classic favorites. Substitute any seedless grapes you prefer for the red grapes, just be sure to slice them in half. You can prepare this salad up to 24 hours in advance and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator until serving. For a twist, swap the pecans with chopped walnuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts, pine nuts, or sunflower seeds. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Note that this salad does not freeze well.
