Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks skin on
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon pepper or to taste

Instructions

  • Make the rub mixture. In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Prep the chicken. Start by preheating your air fryer to 380°F. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels to ensure the seasoning sticks well. Brush each drumstick with olive oil on both sides. Generously coat the chicken all over with the spice rub.
  • Air fry the chicken. Arrange the chicken drumsticks in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are in a single layer. Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip them over and cook for another 10 minutes. If you prefer extra crispy skin and they aren't crispy enough, cook for an additional 5 minutes, keeping a close watch to avoid burning. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

Notes

Invest in an instant meat thermometer—it's a game-changer! This tool ensures your meat is cooked to perfection. With an air fryer, you can easily open the lid to check the internal temperature. Once it hits 165°F, your chicken is perfectly cooked!
I've kept the seasoning simple, but feel free to experiment with different spices and herbs to personalize this recipe.
To achieve the best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
Cooking times may vary depending on the size of the drumsticks or different cuts of chicken. Don’t hesitate to open the air fryer frequently to check for doneness.
Store leftover chicken drumsticks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
To freeze, let the chicken cool completely before transferring it to freezer bags or an airtight container. If using freezer bags, remove as much air as possible before sealing. Frozen drumsticks will keep for up to 3 months.
